Being an Entrepreneur in Uncertain Times

WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW!

I sat down with Lori Cheek, serial entrepreneur and ABC’s Shark Tank competitor for advice on building a business and perseverance during uncertain times. She started her career as an architect, eventually leaving to found a mobile app business in the midst of the Great Recession, pitched such business magnates as Mark Cuban, and is still continuing to press on during the COVID era.

Lori also talks about her origins in rural Kentucky, and what a huge leap it was to go from that to a life in New York City. She knows what it is to build a business, pivot it, and keep transforming it over time.

A few insights to apply:

– Being an entrepreneur takes time. Success does not come overnight. You have to tough it out.

– Once you’ve built your brand and put up your website, it’s an impetus to finish the project.

– You must change with the era and the market needs. You may have to transform your business model multiple times.

– Saying NO is not always the answer. Early on, saying YES to opportunities may get you everywhere you need to go.
